The Uruguayan striker disputed the decision and refused to shake hands with the French defender when the two sides clashed at Old Trafford later that season in 2011.
Suarez, 29, was found guilty of racially abusing Evra during Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United in October 2011, Suarez said "I don't speak to blacks" and used the word "negro" five times in total as they argued and was banned for eight matches.
However, Evra appears to have forgiven the controversial forward and paid tribute to the Barcelona star on his Instagram page after Suarez was awarded the Golden Shoe for his 40 goals in La Liga last term.
Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has heaped praise on ex-Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after the Barcelona forward was awarded the European Golden Shoe award.
