Toni Kroos is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Germany national team
Toni Kroos has signed a new contract with the Spanish giants which keeps him at the Bernabeu until the summer of 2022.
Toni Kroos joined Madrid from Bayern Munich for €30 million in summer 2014 and has since been a key player at the Bernabeu -- especially under current boss Zinedine Zidane.
The 26-year-old has been linked in recent months with a big-money move to the Premier League -- with his former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola reported to be keen for a reunion at Manchester City, and Manchester United also said to be interested.
"Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will see the player linked to the club until 30 June 2022," the statement said. "Toni Kroos will speak to the media tomorrow in the press room of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium."
Kroos has played 108 games for Madrid, scoring four goals, and winning Champions League, World Cup Cup and European Supercup medals.
German paper Bild reports that Kroos will double his salary and now receive €20m a year, making him the highest-paid member of his national team squad.
